Voluntary Action Cardiff

Roath South

Voluntary Action Cardiff. VAC is Cardiff’s voluntary sector umbrella organisation and at the moment we are focusing on what we can do to support local voluntary organisations like yours, through difficult times ahead, following the proposed cuts in the recent spending review.

We’d like to hear your views and find out how VAC can support your organisation.

We’re holding a “Sink or Swim – Surviving the Spending Review” Roadshow in your area:

The Thornhill Centre, Excalibur Drive, Thornhill, CF14 9GA

MONDAY 13TH DECEMBER  6PM - 8PM

It’s going to be a big event with lots of organisations taking part so it would be great to have your input too. We’ll be asking what your concerns and expectations are and how we can help you survive the challenges ahead.

To make sure VAC can continue to support your organisation I would encourage you to become a VAC member (if not already). It entitles you to lots of benefits – free or very low cost training, support with developing your organisation, representation on local partnerships, regular information on what is happening in the sector locally, and the opportunity to attend events and network.

For new members signing up before Christmas we are offering a year’s free membership! Join up for 3 years and only pay for 2!

In addition to the Sink or Swim Roadshows we will also be carrying out a State of the Sector Survey in the next two months.

VAC is surveying the third sector in Cardiff to gauge how organisations are coping in the light of funding cuts and how we as the County Voluntary Council for Cardiff can support our members through these difficult times ahead. It will provide vital information, giving a picture of how organisations in Cardiff are coping during current economic and social pressures. It is now, more than ever, essential to measure the difference that the voluntary sector is making and how people are better off as a result of our services. You will receive the survey through the post shortly and there will also be the facility to complete it online. I would urge you not only to complete the survey for your own organisation but encourage others to do so as well.

Spaces are being taken up quickly so to book your place(s) please contact Caroline Hardy as soon as possible on: caroline.h@vacardiff.org.uk / 02920485722 / 07792528975
